The Russian air defense on Thursday was destroyed by 122 Ukrainian drones, which were aimed at the Moscow region and dozens of other Russian areas. Russian officials also report several injured, TASR writes, according to Reuters report.
More than half of the drones were destroyed by air defense over the Belgod, Kursk and Brian region, which bordered with Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said on the telegram platform. The air defense was destroyed by drones over 12 areas, destroying three drones over the Moscow area. Most of the drones – 43 – shot down over the Brian region and 38 above the Kursk area.
The Gubernate of the Smolen region Vasily Anochin on the telegram announced that one person suffered injuries. They also recorded minor damage to the civilian building. According to the governor of the Voronezh region of Alexander Gusev, who also informed about the attack on the telegram, the drone fragments hit the building in Voronezh, while three minors suffered injuries.
According to the governor of the Belgod region of Viačeslav Gladkov on Wednesday at the Ukrainian drone attack, three people died and another 17 suffered injuries. Reuters pointed out that it could not independently verify these messages. Ukraine has not yet commented on the attacks.
Moscow and Kiev accuse each other for more than three years of war on attacks on civilians, which both sides deny. At the same time, the Russian side reports only about the number of downed drones, not about the total number of drones fired towards Russia.
Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. In recent days, he has been intensifying his attacks and releasing hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles against the neighboring country every night. It was these attacks that said US President Donald Trump this week as a reason for his decision to approve weapons supply, including air defense systems for Ukraine.
