A fire hit the main stage of the Tomorrowland electronic music festival on Wednesday, 16, in the city of Boom, Belgium. The event was scheduled to start on Friday, 18. According to the organizers, there were no victims.

According to Standaard’s Belgian newspaper, the fire was recorded around 6.30 pm at the local time. About an hour later, the flames were controlled by the Fire Department. It is not yet known what caused the fire.

At a press conference, Debby Wilmsen, Tomorrowland spokesman, said the festival will not be postponed, but that the organizers are still deciding how the shows will be distributed without the main stage. The other stages were not affected by the fire.

Videos released on social networks show the structure set up in Schorre Park taken by flames and smoke.

“The masterpiece was already. We cannot rebuild the main stage because it was years of work, but all other stages are still totally intact,” Wilmsen said, according to the Belgian press.

The Fire Department is still in place. Residents of areas near the festival space were told to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
