Initiative allows to exchange tax debts for services to SUS and offers R $ 2 billion per year for specialized care

The Ministry of Health included private clinics in the “Now Has Specialists” program, which allows the exchange of tax debts for SUS (Unified Health System) services. The announcement was made this Thursday (17.Jul.2025) during online transmission of Fesaude (Federation of Health Entities) and Sindhosp (Union of Hospitals).

The initiative, previously called “more specialists”, included only hospitals and now extends to private clinics capable of providing integrated care. The program will provide $ 2 billion per year to finance specialized care.

“This proposal has been presented for years, but only now advances with the support of Health Minister Alexandre Padilha, and Finance Minister Fernando Haddad. The sector’s tax debt amounts to R $ 34 billion, an priceless value. Therefore, the best solution is the realization of the public-private partnership.”said Francisco Balestrin, president of Fesaude and Sindosp,

Participating clinics will be able to offer outpatient services in 32 different integrated care offers. The procedures include specialties such as cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, oncology and gynecology.

Private health facilities will receive financial credits for care. These credits may be used to pay tax debts or current taxes with the IRS and the Attorney General of the National Treasury.
