The House of Representatives approved at dawn this Thursday (17.Jul.2025) the base text of the PL (bill) which changes the rules for the issuance of environmental licensing. It received 267 favorable votes and 116 contrary. The result was announced at 1:53. Congressmen now analyze suggestions for change.
The text was approved by the Senate on May 21. In government, there are disagreements between those who support and those who criticize the possible effects of the project.
Environment Minister Marina Silva is against the text. On May 22, he said that the project flexes rules without national coordination and outside the collegiate council parameters such as Conama (National Environmental Council).
