Obamas play with divorce rumors: “For a while, it was a ‘rod and runs away'”

Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama approached rumors about her divorce. They did so in an episode of his podcast, released Wednesday.
“She accepted me back!” Said Barack Obama on the podcast IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson. For a while, it was a situation of “plays and runs”.
Speculation about the couple’s wedding have been very frequent in recent months. Some of the rumors gained strength after several public appearances in which Michelle Obama did not join her husband, including the inauguration of President Donald Trump in January.
“It’s so good to have you both together in the same room,” Robinson, who is the brother of Michelle Obama, told the couple. Michelle replied, “I know why, when we are not, people think we are divorced.”
Robinson told the story of a woman who approached him at an airport to ask him about her sister’s wedding. “” What did he do? “Asked this woman.
“This is the kind of things I miss,” said Barack Obama. “That’s why I don’t even know these things are happening, and then someone mentions them and I ask, ‘What are you talking about?’
Michelle Obama continued: “There was no only moment in our wedding when I thought of giving up my man. We spent very difficult times, we had a lot of fun moments, many adventures, and I became a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
The former first lady had previously addressed speculation about her marriage and her decision not to go to Trump’s inauguration.
“My decision to miss the inauguration – which people do not realize – or my decision to make choices earlier this year that they were invited to me was received with so ridiculous and critical,” Michelle Obama explained in an episode of her podcast earlier this year. “People could not believe that I was saying ‘no’ for any other reason, which led them to assume that my marriage was falling apart.”
