The European Commission has proposed a new budget, Poland will be the largest recipient. The Minister of Finance described priorities as security, coherence, agriculture and innovation.
According to the proposal of the European Commission (EC), Poland will be the largest recipient from the new proposed budget of the European Union. On Wednesday (16 July), Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domaňski said this, according to which the proposed expenditure is increased in areas that are priority for Poland. This is reported by the Warsaw newsletter TASR according to the contribution of Domaňsky on the Platform X.
The Minister on the social network stated that it is a safety, cohesion policy, agriculture and innovation, which he described as key to building a strong economy. At the same time, Domaňski congratulated the Polish Commissioner for the budget and administration Piotr Serafin.
The proposal of the multiannual financial framework (VFR) was submitted by the Commission in July. EC Ursula von Der Leyen, chairman, said it is the most ambitious EU budget ever, which is “more strategic, more flexible and more transparent” and means that the EU invests more in its independence and the ability to respond to different crises.
According to the materials presented by the EC, the next VFR will have only 16 instead of 52 current programs, so it should be easier for users and provide better results.
The largest item, EUR 865 billion, is intended for the so -called national and regional partnerships, which also covers the common agricultural policy, and EUR 300 billion has been earmarked to support farmers and direct payments for them.
Another EUR 410 billion of Euro Commission has proposed a new European Competition (ECF) fund, which would also include programs such as the Horizon of Europe and the Innovation Fund.
