Focusing on accident prevention and promoting safety between children and adolescents, the Institute of Consumer Protection and Protection (Procon) performed this week an educational action at the Mother Adelgundes Becker Civic School in South Cruzeiro. “It is precisely now that students are going on vacation, when they get freer and end up exposing themselves in open places to let out kites. The campaign focuses on guiding and preventing,” explained Elissandra.

In addition to the educational character, the campaign also includes local commerce inspection actions. According to Procon’s chief inspection in Juruá, Paulo Henrique Rocha, the sale, purchase or use of cerol, Chilean line or Thai line is prohibited by state law. He stressed that those who fail to comply with the legislation can be punished with fines, cancellation of business license and other penalties.
“Procon acts on both educational and trade inspection. Cerol use is a crime. We want to play with kites to continue, but safely, without putting lives at risk,” he said.
