Damascus attacks left at least 3 dead and 34 injured; Israel states that action was a response to the presence of troops in the Suwayda region
The army of Israel bombing in Damascus, the capital of Syria, this Wednesday (16.Jul.2025). The onslaught hit the presidential palace and other military targets of the Syrian government. According to the Arab country’s state media, at least 3 people died and 34 were injured after the attacks.

The Israeli government justified the bombing of this Thursday (16.Jul) in response to the presence of Syrian troops in Suwayda and the escalation of clashes in the southern region of Syria. The Israeli government had threatened to intensify operations if troops were not removed from the area. As reported by Syrian media, among the main affected by the bombing are civil and military personnel who were present in the attacked areas.
Previously, on June 30, 2025, Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar had to formalize diplomatic relations with Syria, showing interest in attaching them to “Circle of peace.”
