Russian courts condemned 135 people to participate in riots at Dagestan Airport. The protesters attacked Jewish passengers and caused material damage.

A total of 135 people condemned 135 people in connection with anti -Israeli unrest, which broke out after the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023 at the Makhačkaly airport in the Russian Republic Dagestan. The riots at the airport in Makhačkale, the capital of Dagestan, occurred on October 29, 2023. Dozens of demonstrators penetrated through the doors and barriers of the airport, and some of them also got to the runway.

The protesters, mostly young men, waved Palestinian flags during the disturbances at the airport and also caused material damage. Overall, 20 people were injured in the riots, but no passengers from Tel Aviv suffered injuries.

Russian investigators have made it clear on Friday that they have gathered evidence against 142 people since then and completed the investigation of 139 of them. The other three persons who, according to investigators, organized disturbances through the Telegram Social Network, included a list of people wanted. The courts for imprisonment lasting between six and 15 years of age sentenced 135 people.

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Western states and Ukraine who refused responsibility with the incitement of unrest without evidence. At that time, Kiev attributed the incident to “deep -rooted anti -Semitism in Russian elites and in Russian society”.
