An attack from Israel hit the complex of the only Catholic church in the Gaza Strip on Thursday (17), including the parish priest, according to church officials. The place housed hundreds of people.
In a rare movement, Israel’s Foreign Ministry published an apology on social networks. “Israel expresses deep regret for damage to the church of the Holy Family in Gaza and any civil victim,” he said.
The Israeli army also said that he was investigating the offensive and “makes all viable effort to mitigate damage to civilians and civil structures, including religious places, and regrets any damage caused to them.”

White House Communication and spokesman Karoline Leavitt said United States President Donald Trump spoke on a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The premie said that the attack on the church occurred by mistake. According to Leavitt, the agent questioned the offensive.
Israeli violence happens amid discussions for a ceasefire in the region.
