The Ukrainian President called on the new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council to intensify the talks. Moscow welcomes the initiative.

Peace negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine need more dynamics, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greeny on Friday, asking for a new secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Ruster Umiova to intensify the talks. In response, Moscow welcomed this initiative of Kiev. TASR reports, according to reports of Reuters and TASS, according to reports.

This year, two rounds of Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations have been held in Istanbul, Turkey. However, the talks did not lead to a shift to end the war. However, the parties agreed to extensive exchange of prisoners and fallen soldiers. These exchanges took place gradually in June. The date of the new delegation meeting has not yet been determined by the opposing parties.

“The execution of agreements from the second meeting in Istanbul continues. This process needs more dynamics,” wrote Zelenskyj on the network X.

Russia does not move away from the requirements

According to Reuters, Russia repeatedly declares that it is ready for a new round of negotiations. At the same time, however, it has not yet retreated from its maximalist requirements – as Ukraine and its allies say.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry, in response to the question during briefing with journalists, described the Greeny statements as a positive signal. “We completely agree with this. We are also advocating to speed up the process of negotiations,” Peskov said.

US President Donald Trump has shown his dissatisfaction from Moscow several times in recent weeks, threatening to impose secondary sanctions in the form of 100 % duties on her business partners if he does not finish the war against Ukraine within 50 days. In addition, he also announced a new agreement on the supply of weapons of Kiev, for which he said they would pay NATO Member States.

Ukraine looks to keep agreements

Zelenskyj said in the paper that Umerov, who held the position of Minister of Defense until Thursday’s reconstruction of the government, also commissioned work at the military aid agreements with the Allies of Ukraine.

“We must fully fulfill all agreements with our partners on the supply of weapons, as well as new special agreements to establish joint production and build production facilities in the territory of partners,” wrote the head of the Ukrainian state.
