“I am sorry, but it is a concentration camp. If the Palestinians are deported to this new ‘humanitarian city’, it can be said that this is part of ethnic cleaning.” The prosecution did not start from the Palestinian, Arab government, or some university activist in the US. These are words of Ehud Olmert. It is not worth discarding it as an anti-Semitic.
Olmert is a conservative politician. She had a career at Likud, the Netanyahu party, until she joined the then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to found the center-right Kadima. He headed the office between 2006 and 2009 and, in erasing the lights of his government, offered the Palestinian authority the most generous peace plan in the history of the Holy Land.
Abbas hesitated and, in the end, refused on the grounds that Olmert would soon resign in his charge. It was succeeded by Netanyahu, who made Hamas a tacit partner in the permanent sabotage of peace negotiations. Hamas’s attacking barbarians and Israel’s criminal war against Gaza’s civilian population were cooked in the fire of those 15 years.
The anti -Semitic of the past drew Jews with a damn nose. Contemporary anti -Semitic paints Israel as a genocidal state since its foundation. Choosing the right words, with deep grief, Olmert accuses Netanyahu’s government for war crimes and points to the ethnic cleaning plan, but points out that this has not happened. ” He certainly knows, like all Jews, that ethnic cleaning is the classic detonator of genocide.
“These guys are the internal enemy,” explains Olmert, referring to the supremacist ministers of the Israeli government, who preach the expulsion of the population of Gaza and sponsor the violence of Extremist settlers in the West Bank. They are, adds, a greater threat to Israel’s safety than any external enemy, as they endanger the historical legitimacy of the Jewish state. They do, in short, efficiently, the service that Iran, Hamas and Anti -Semitic activists from the right or left in the West have never been able to perform.
The offer of the Map of Peace by Olmert during the final cycle of negotiations was not the gesture of a pacifist. Just as, before him, Shimon Peres and Ehud Barak, his goal was to protect Israel’s vital interests.
At the Annapolis Conference (2007), he lit up the scenario: “If the day comes when the two-state resolution collapses and we face a South African-style conflict for voting rights, the State of Israel has come to an end.” Of course, it is precisely such a conflict the goal of the defenders of the solving of a single state “from the river to the sea”, which would be soon or later an Arab-Muslim state.
A tragic two centuries experience showed Jews that it is deadly dangerous to be a national minority. The Jewish state arose precisely so that Jews will never be a minority. In the mid -20th century, about one fifth of the Palestinians of the Holy Land were Christians; Today, they add 1%. The fate of the Jews would be the same in such a single state “from Rio to the sea”.
In the long run, Netanyahu supremacists who bury the two -state solution can only get the expulsion of the Jews of Israel. This is why Jewish diaspora – in the USA, Argentina, Brazil – needs to erect its voice against ethnic cleaning.
