In a decision on Friday (18.Jul), STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes determines the use of anklet and prohibits the former president of using social networks
The Federal Police (PF) is fulfilled on the morning of this Friday (18.Jul.2025) search and seizure warrants against the former president (PL), as well as different precautionary measures in Brasilia.
The warrants were authorized by the Supreme Court (STF), and are being served at the former president’s house and at addresses related to the PL (Liberal Party), Bolsonaro’s caption.
Among the restrictions, Bolsonaro will have to wear electronic anklet and will not be able to access social networks. The former president should also be at 7 pm and 7 am, and was forbidden to communicate with foreign ambassadors and diplomats or other defendants.
On social networks, netizens made memes with the situation and the themes “Jair Bolsonaro”, “Great Day” and “Bandit” appear among the most commented on X.

What the defense says
In a note, Bolsonaro’s defense said that “Received with surprise and indignation the imposition of severe precautionary measures” against the former president and who has not yet had access to the decision of Moraes.
