Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities have happened over the past week

It has stated that more than 100 Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow and various parts of the country on Thursday, less than two weeks after the US President, asked the leader of, if Kiev could attack the Russian capital and St. Petersburg, the second largest city in the country. The Russian Ministry of Defense said its air defenses overthrew 122 Ukrainian drones at night, while both countries intensify air attacks amid a battlefield and paralyzed efforts to achieve peace.

Still, the scale of recent Russian attacks on Ukraine surpasses those thrown in the opposite direction. In a night attack last week, Russia launched over 700 drones and missiles, the biggest attack of this kind in the war, now in its fourth year. Kiev did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the latest drone attacks.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said three drones flying toward the Russian capital were destroyed. Authorities said a district east of St. Petersburg was targeted. The city’s main airport has temporarily canceled flights at night, but did not mention the threat of drones. Russia usually does not provide details about the reason for flight interruptions.

In the Voronezh region, near the Ukraine border, authorities said three children were injured after wreckage of a downcast drone reaching a multi -storey apartments block. Smolensk, a region west of Moscow, also reported victims of flying drone wreckage.

Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities have also continued throughout the week. On Tuesday (15), the head of the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region said one person was killed and five were injured in nighttime attacks.
