A woman drawn with a coarse marker, a fictional dialogue between two men who know each other too well and a firm, “Donald”, scribbled right in the drawing of the drawing, as if it were pubic hair. Those are the elements that, according to (WSJ)appear on one of the pages that are part of an album that Ghislaine Maxwell, the closest collaborator of Jeffrey Epstein, with whom he had maintained a sentimental relationship, prepared in 2003 to celebrate the 50’s 50th birthday. The content does not need ornaments: the exclusive that the newspaper has published is a bomb that bears name and surname. So much, that Donald Trump has exploded, who has announced a lawsuit against the newspaper, has accused Rupert Murdoch – his owner – of defamation and has also ordered to declassify the documents of the case.
One of the letters included in the album, attributed to Donald Trump, is written as a dialogue between him and Epstein, in the third person. It starts with a somewhat philosophical phrase: “There must be something else in life than having everything.” From there, the two are answered with cryptic phrases, implying that they share a secret. “We have things in common, Jeffrey,” says one of them. “The enigmas do not age, have you noticed?” Add another. The letter ends with a disturbing toast: “Happy birthday … and that every day brings another delicious secret.”
The album was a personal commission from Maxwell. It gathered letters, poems, photos and messages up of tone sent by friends, partners and former collaborators of Epstein. Among them includes lawyer Alan Dershowitz – who would defend him after his first detention – and the magnate Leslie Wexner, then his main client. The latter accompanied his note with a drawing of some female breasts and a provocative phrase: “I wanted to give you what you wanted … so here you have it …”. According to the Journal, the book was bound by the New York artisan Herbert Weitz and ended up in the hands of the Department of Justice during the first research for sex trafficking. It is not clear if the page attributed to Trump has been part of the recent review of those documents.
Trump explodes and threatens to go to court
Minutes after the publication of the report, the president of the United States has reacted with virulence. In a message in Truth Social, he announced that he will sue The Wall Street Journal, to NewScorp and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, so he considers a “malicious defamation.” “The Wall Street Journal published a false letter, supposedly addressed to Epstein. These are not my words, it is not my way of speaking. Besides, I do not make drawings,” he said. And he has finished: “Now I am going to sue Murdoch and his third -third newspaper.”
Trump has affirmed that both the medium and its owner “were directly warned by the president” and has loaded against the director of the newspaper, Emma Tucker, for ignoring his spokesman. “Murdoch declared that he would take care of it, but obviously he had no power to do so,” he said. He has defined the publication as a “false, malicious and defamatory news” and has taken the opportunity to breastfeed for his judicial background: “I have hit George Stephanopoulos/ABC, 60 minute/cbs and others,” he said, referring to previous litigation.
He has also described the Epstein case as “another scam”, and has accused the democrats and ancient high positions like James Comey or Hillary Clinton of having mounted a conspiracy. “If there was something really, this information would have been revealed years ago,” he said on his social network. “The press has to learn to be truthful and not trust sources that probably do not even exist.”
Order to declassify documents
In parallel, Trump has ordered the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to make public the testimonies of the Grand Jury that formally accused Epstein for sexual trafficking of minors. “Based on the ridiculous amount of advertising given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked the attorney general Pam Bondi to present each and every one of the pertinent testimonies of the grand jury, subject to the approval of the Court. This scam, perpetuated by the Democrats, must end, right now!” He written.
The decision comes at a delicate time. Only a few days ago, the FBI and the Department of Justice closed the investigation of the Epstein case concluding that there was no “list of clients” that justified new revelations. They also confirmed that Epstein committed suicide in prison in 2019, discarding conspiracy theories that pointed to undercover murder.
The closure of the case has angry at the most radical sectors of the Maga Movement, who expected Trump, Bondi or the FBI deputy director, Dan Bongino, revealed the alleged agenda of names linked to Epstein’s framework. Some feel betrayed, especially after the insinuations of Elon Musk, which came to publish – and then delete – a message that suggested that Trump was in that “customer list.”
The publication of this letter, unpublished so far, once again focuses on an uncomfortable relationship that Trump has always tried to minimize. In the nineties and early 2000s, he was photographed at several parties with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and his then partner, Melania Trump. And although they ensure that they cut their friendship before the tycoon was convicted, his name appears several times in the flight records of the private Jet of Epstein.
