Botafogo’s board is intended to build a new stadium with a capacity of 40,000 people. The project was presented in the ‘Letter of Loyalty’ to Jhon Textor, after the failed attempt of removal from the American businessman. In addition to the number of places, the directors revealed that Glorious’s new home will be ‘one of the most modern and advanced on the planet’.
According to ge.globoSAF wants to buy land in the region of Barra Olympic, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, to build Stadium. The desire of this new venture was quoted in the stretch that talks about the prospects of the future of the Rio club.
“One of the most ambitious pieces of this future is Botafogo’s new stadium, designed to receive 40,000 fans. It’s not any stadium, it’s a world -class home, one of the most modern and advanced on the planet. A vibrant stadium, with the stands near the field,” says the document.
The leaders continued, when describing the future stadium: “A place built not only for football, but for pride, identity and belonging. A space where generations of fans: parents, children, grandchildren, gather and feel the truly meaning black and white. This will not be another stadium. It will be a statement.
Understand the letter of loyalty to textor
Following the attempted removal of Jhon Texor, managers of Botafogo’s SAF published a letter to Eagle Holding shareholders, declaring support to the American businessman. The loyalty gesture was triggered by the movement, headed by Michele Kang and the group Ares Management Corporation, who tried to get the billionaire out of the Rio team last Thursday (17).
“We are not abandoning Botafogo. We are defending Botafogo who came out of the ashes, the phoenix who was reborn under the leadership of a man who dared to dream and asked us to dream about him. (…) If John will go out with him. Without him, we are a team.
