A Brooklin Bookstoreon Hollywood Street, 275, South Zone of De, reported, through Instagram, the end of the activities after almost four years. “Our house is open for farewells until the end of July, at normal opening hours,” they wrote. The establishment will work with special discounts by the end of July during traditional opening hours, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. After four years at the head of the establishment, Victoria Mantoan, owner of the establishment, says that the street bookstore scene in Sao Paulo “is challenging and demanding, but it is possible.” “The bookstore is not just a book store. It is a space, people go there wanting to listen to authors, they want programming, want conversation, nomination, surprise,” he says. “Street bookstores are a same cultural space.”
On Friday, 25, the bookstore promotes, at 17h, a meeting with writer Caetano Romão, as part of the Arena da Word festival. He recently launched the romance I write his name in the rice (phosphorus). Already on Saturday, 26, the bookstore will do a farewell all day. “We will have books on sale, we will open the coffee stock, with wines and foods. We are calling people to say goodbye, because we have established a very tasty bond in the neighborhood,” explains psychoanalyst Victoria Mantoan, owner.
The Brooklin Bookstore opened in November 2021 with the proposal to offer a carefully thought of the team, with diversity of authors, regions and genres. The offer goes from literary fiction to children’s and children’s books, fantasy and not fiction. The bookstore also has a coffee in the backyard, with spaces for reading and work.
