Cancer patient identification card will be valid for 3 years; text will still be analyzed by other commissions and the Senate
The Health Commission of the House of Representatives approved a bill that creates the cancer patient identification card, to facilitate access to health services and benefits, ensuring priority and humanized care.
The approved text is the substitute the rapporteur, deputy (PL-MG), for Bill 1,785 of 2024, by Deputy Henderson Pinto (MDB-PA), and a touched. The rapporteur unified the texts, maintaining the purpose of the original version.
“The identification of the cancer patient facilitates the recognition of the rights and prerogatives provided for by law. In addition, various policies and actions can be implemented for the benefit of specific groups.”said Rosângela.
According to the proposal, states, Federal District and Municipalities will issue the portfolio, upon request and medical report with the Cid Code (International Statistical Classification of diseases and health -related problems).

The document must contain at least the following information:
- Full name of cancer patients, affiliation, place and date of birth;
- Identity Number/RG, CPF (Registration of Individuals) and CNS (National Health Card);
- Blood type, full residential address and phone number;
- Photography, in 3×4 format, and signature or fingerprint; and
- Identification of the federative unit and the issuing body, with the signature of the responsible leader.
By the text, the cancer patient identification card will be valid for 3 years and should be renewed at the end to update the data. However, in cases of incurable neoplasia, the expiration date will be undetermined.
“This measure will represent a significant milestone in the protection of rights and promoting the dignity of people facing the disease”said Deputy Henderson Pinto.

The project is processed in conclusive and will still be analyzed by the finance and tax committees; and constitution and justice and citizenship.
