The Syrian government announces a high fire in dream after a week of extreme sectarian violence

The violent clashes in the city of southern Syria to Sueida, capital of the homonymous region, between Bedouin clans and groups of the Drusa minority have exploded again this Saturday despite the announcement of Alto El Fuego with Israel, according to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights.

This Friday, the special envoy of the United States in Syria, Tom Barrackannounced that Israel and Syria had reached a high -fire agreement supported by the US and accepted by Türkiye, information that the Syrian government confirmed this morning.

According to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, which accounts for violence in the Arab country, after announcing the fire, the dream has lived a “tense calm” in the morning that has been broken when Government troops have begun to deploy through the territory. The organization details that its sources in the field report that violent clashes between groups have exploded again west of the city.

The confrontations between Bedouin and Druss groups in the Sureña Syria province of Al Sueida, with the subsequent shipment of government forces, made Israel intervene in the conflict under the premise that acts in defense of the minority of Drusa in Syria.

Although government troops had retired on Wednesday from the region, the Syrian government announced this Saturday that its soldiers have begun to deploy again in Al Sueida “To guarantee the application of high fire, maintain public order and protect citizens and their properties.”

The Syrian news agency also reports that the troops have already started deployment in the region and that clashes between Druss and Bedouins continue to happen.

While the authorities still do not offer an updated balance of victims, the Observatory raised this Saturday the number of deaths in the last seven days of violence in Al Sueida.

In addition, the UN Agency for Refugees (UNHCR) figure at least 60,000 people who have displaced from the region in this wave of violence.
