How did the vote worked? Each journalist set up the Top-10 itself in the history of football, and the points were distributed as follows: 10 points for the athlete for each vote as 1st place, nine points for each vote as 2nd place and so on, with the 10th place from each list receiving one point. Therefore, the maximum score of a player would be 260 points.

National Football Day is celebrated in Brazil on July 19 because it is the date of foundation of the oldest team in the country: Sport Club Rio Grande (RS), created in 1900. The tribute was institutionalized in 1976 by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), at the time Brazilian Confederation of Sports (CBD).
