Announcement made by the US ambassador to Türkiye, Tom Barrack
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa came to a ceasefire agreement, with mediation and support from the United States. The announcement was made this Friday by the US ambassador to Türkiye, Tom Barck, on social network X.
The ceasefire, according to the ambassador, was “accepted and greeted” not only by Israel and Syria, but also by countries in the region such as Turkey, Jordan and “other neighbors”.
“We appeal to all communities within Syria, including Drudos, Bedouins, Sunnis, to lower our weapons and join the construction of a new Syrian identity, based on peace, inclusion and prosperity,” read the Ambassador’s publication.
