President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva classified this Saturday (19) by “another arbitrary and completely unfounded measure”.
In an official note issued by the Planalto Palace, Lula expressed solidarity with the ministers affected by the revocation of visas, announced on Friday (18) by the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
“The interference of one country in the justice system of another is unacceptable and hurts the basic principles of respect and sovereignty among nations,” he wrote.

“I am sure that no kind of intimidation or threat, of anyone, will compromise the most important mission of national powers and institutions, which is to act permanently in the defense and preservation of the Democratic Rule of Law,” he added.
On Friday night, Rubio announced that Washington was restricting visas to the Brazilian judiciary and his immediate family members, citing objections to legal proceedings against former President Jair Bolsonaro.
Rubio ordered the revocation of visas to Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court, and for those who called his allies in court, as well as his immediate family members, without specifying too much names.
