A 35-year-old man died after being shot in his head during an attempted robbery on the afternoon of Friday (18), on the Avenida dos Três PãoS, corner with Francisco Morato Avenue, in Butantã, west of Sao Paulo.
The victim was in a Jeep Compass when he was approached, around 4:30 pm, by an armed man who was riding a motorcycle with black chest near a gas station. Watch the video:
According to witnesses, the robber announced the theft and went into a body fight with the driver, when he fired and hit the man in his head. The criminal fled without taking anything, towards Vila Sônia/Taboão da Serra.
A civil police officer passing through the region heard the shots and went to the scene. As he approached the vehicle, he found the injured driver, lying on the passenger’s lap, who reported the robbery.
The agent called a medical team from a nearby hospital that provided first aid. The victim was taken to the unit, but could not resist the injuries and had the death confirmed on Saturday (19).
The passenger was also injured, hit by glass shrapnel, with lesions mainly in the eye region. She was referred to another hospital in the region.
The case was registered as murder (theft followed by death) in the 34th police district. The Civil Police requested technical expertise at the scene and continues with investigations to identify and arrest the perpetrator.
