53 -year -old artist follows steps from Croatian Luka Modric, who has been a shareholder of the Welsh club since April this year
The American rapper became Swansea’s co -owner, the English second division team announced. The 53 -year -old artist follows the steps of the Croatian player, a shareholder of the Galesa team. Last week, Snoop appeared on social networks wearing Swansea’s new shirt for next season, and the club announced on Thursday (17) that the rapper had become his shareholder.
“The history of this club and its region moved me. It is a city of the working class and a proud club. A ‘outsider’ that bites, like me,” commented Snoop Dogg. Last November, the Welsh club was bought by US investors Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen.
The latter have announced their intention to generate revenues that will allow the club to make signings, and expect Snopp Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, give “a push”, especially thanks to their more than 100 million followers on social networks.
Swansea was relegated to Championship in 2018 and tries to return to since then. Swansea’s Welsh rival Wrexham got promotion for Championship after being bought in 2020 by movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney.
