The STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice) sentenced striker Dudu to six suspension games and applied a fine of $ 90,000 for offenses given by Atletico-MG player Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras.
The decision, which happened unanimously, has immediate effect. Thus, the athlete should not find his former club on Sunday (20), when the mining team visits the São Paulo team at Allianz Parque, at 5:30 pm (Brasília), for the Brazilian Championship. The athlete can still appeal.
Judge Ronald Barbosa Filho classified the player’s infraction as ” very serious ” and framed him in Article 243-G of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice, which deals with the practice of discriminatory act, discharge or outrageous, related to prejudice due to ethnic origin, race, sex, color, age, condition as an elderly person or disabled person.
The penalty in such cases may vary from five to ten suspension games, plus a fine between $ 100 and $ 100,000.
The action against the striker originated in a friction between him and Leila last year, when the player was close to transferring to Cruzeiro, but turned back after signing a pre-cord. Then, at the end of the year, he let Palmeiras terminate the contract. At the time, the leader stated that the athlete would be leaving Palmeiras “through the back door”.
After the statements, the striker responded on social networks with a photo of his trophies won by the São Paulo club and wrote: “The truck was heavy and sent me out of the doors of the background !!! (sic). My story was giant and sincere, different from his Lady Leila Pereira (marking the president’s profile). Forget.”
During the session in which Dudu was convicted, there was the testimony of Leila Pereira, representatives of UBM (Brazilian Union of Women), who filed the complaint in the STJD in favor of the president, in addition to Dudu’s lawyer.
The striker did not attend the court and sent a video shown at the session. “I wanted to clarify the reason for my non -attendance in court, that I respect a lot, because I am working for my profession and I also come to apologize to all the women who were offended by my speech, my text that I wrote some time ago, and here is my apology to all women,” Dudu said in the video.
Leila criticized the athlete’s absence. ” It has suffered violence, you have to report: because these aggressors are cowardly. The biggest proof I’m living here. That this athlete assaulted me, offended me, and where is he? Recorded a little video that must have read in TP [teleprompter]. It must have repeated 500 times to see if it was more cute.
