Chicken in the pot wants to quadruple stores in 5 years, says CEO

O CEO do Carlos Júnior, said in an interview with this Poder360 That the current focus of the company is to reach 400 units in 5 years, ie quadruple the current 100 stores that exist in 17 states. After this time, the entrepreneur said to think about internationalizing the brand.

“There is an idea of opening stores in other countries, but in the long run. I have a thesis in my head that makes no sense for me to go outside the country if I have not even conquered the country in its fullness.”declared Carlos Júnior. When internationalization begins, the idea is to go to the nearest countries in South America and Latin America.

“The chicken in the pot is Brazilian and chicken in the pot is proud to be Brazilian”these.

To quadruple the number of units in 5 years, Carlos stated that the company is renovating the entire business expansion team and have even made an expansion radius. “Within 700 km expansion itself, 450 units fit. We already have an expansion study done. We have a national study that shows 950 chicken stores in the pot in Brazil. We were a little more cautious and put it in half”.

The intention, therefore, is to conquer the Midwest and then Minas Gerais. “The idea of regionalizing is by brand consolidation. It is much easier to start a business in regions closer to Brasilia, which people often come to Brasilia, know the market and may have known chicken in the pot of what I opened, for example, in the Northeast, which sometimes the person does not know the chicken in the pot.”said Carlos.

According to the CEO, the difference between the company and the international competitors was that they got “Conquering the interior and Brazil is a country of interior. So we want to bet on it”said the CEO.

The brand was created in 2012 in Brasilia by Carlos Júnior’s father, Carlos Nepomuceno. The 1st franchise was opened in 2014, when the father had two his own stores. Currently, to open a franchise starts at $ 300,000 and goes up to $ 700,000.

“To choose a franchisee, we have an internal process structured with several questions, salaries, filters. I am very careful in this matter of opening new business so that the risk is not too big for the franchisee. Because, at the end of the day, they are lives. So they are betting money on us.”declared the chicken CEO in the pot.

Of the 100 units that the brand currently has, 5 are proper to the franchisor and, according to Carlos, the current idea is to increase the franchisor’s own stores. There is the intention, for example, of opening a unit in Brasilia that works as Drive Thru and this store would be the franchisor’s own.

“The Drive Thru model is on the rise worldwide, but we depend a lot on big and specific points for this to happen. We have the model ready, already designed, but we are still looking for a point for the business to happen.”said the CEO.
