Internacional won another victory in the Brazilian Championship, but let out the intensity of the first half in the final stage. After the 1-0 triumph over Ceará, this Saturday (19), in Beira-Rio, coach Roger Machado praised the team’s initial performance, but acknowledged that the team gave spaces in the final minutes.
“Very good first half, with a great pace. In the second half, Ceará made some modifications, put freshness in the game. We did not get the same marking moment and Ceará began to use inversions for the ball to arrive at Pedro Raul inside the area. A different game feature, in the end we seek to defend the scoring and give in spaces,” he admitted.
Even with the oscillation, the coach positively evaluated the performance compared to the previous round, when Inter also hit Vitória 1-0.
“I see a very clear evolution compared to the first game. The idea is to follow this evolution and increase this window of correction and offensive production. The most important of all was the three points, which make us jump in the table,” he explained.
Colorado’s next challenge will be against Santos, at 9:30 pm (Brasília) next Wednesday (23), in Vila Belmiro.
How was the game
Inter started with aggressive posture. In the first minute, Wesley forced Bruno Ferreira to defend, and at 7 ‘, Aguirre hit the crossbar. Shortly thereafter, Bruno Henrique wasted a good chance face to face with the goalkeeper.
Ceará responded with Galeano, who hit the heel post at 13 ‘, but the bid was irregular.
At 23 ‘, Borré advanced on the right and played for Alan Patrick to open the scoring. Pedro Raul even tied, but the goal was annulled by impediment.
On the way back, the colorado continued to press. Borré almost expanded in the first minute, and Alan Patrick required firm defense in a free kick. Ceará reacted in the final minutes and almost tied with Pedro Raul, who headed in the crossbar. The score, however, remained 1-0 for the gauchos, who celebrated the second consecutive victory.
