Disbelieving in relation to the Senator (PSD-MG), petist leaders have already begun to articulate a “plan B” for the dispute to the government of Minas Gerais in 2026.
In recent weeks, PT Mineiro parliamentarians have opened conversations about a possible support to the former mayor of Belo Horizonte Alexandre Kalil (Republicans), who wants to be a candidate for governor.

The idea of petistas would be that Kalil was joined by a center acronym that will support the reelection of in 2026. One of the defended destinations would be the MDB or PSD, the former mayor’s party.

The former mayor of the capital of Minas Gerais, it is worth remembering, was already a candidate for the state government in 2022, when he had the support of Lula. Kalil, however, lost the dispute to Governor Romeu Zema (new).
Lula waits for response from Pacheco
Lula’s plan to the Minas Gerais government is still Pacheco. The former Senate president, however, has given signs that he does not run and will leave politics in 2026, when his mandate ends.
According to petistas Mineiros, Lula expects a definitive response from Pacheco in the second half of 2025, so that he can start working the possible plan B.
