The Federal Deputy (-SP) said today that he will not resign. In March, the parliamentarian and son of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) requested a license of his mandate, whose deadline ended today, and went to live in the United States, on the grounds of political persecution.

The parliamentarian said during a live on Sunday that he will be able to “take his term” for another three months. “I won’t do any resignation. If I want to, I can take my term, at least until the next three months,” he said in the broadcast on his YouTube channel.

The 120 -day license of the parliamentarian ends on Sunday, but the congressional recess and the limit of absences permitted by the House must postpone the decision on the possible loss of mandate of the deputy. Chamber sessions only return on August 4.

If it does not officially resign to the term of office until this Monday (21), Eduardo will again receive the salary of R $ 46.3 thousand as deputy. His return as a parliamentary is automatic, not being necessary for any formality, according to the House of Representatives.

Even if he does not return to Brazil, he does not risk losing his mandate now. Punishment only occurs if the number of absences exceeds one third of plenary sessions in the year. So far, Eduardo accumulates four non -justified absences on the House website.

“[São] 44 sessions still [às quais ele pode faltar]”Said his brother, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), last Thursday (17).

During the week, Eduardo indicated that he would give up his mandate. “I don’t see the possibility of coming back now, because if I come back, Alexandre will arrest me,”. “I just need to pronounce definitively after the recess. I have the option of not renouncing, letting time run and lose my term for lack,” he added.

Former President Jair Bolsonaro’s son licensed in March. At the time, he announced that he would be in the United States to seek punishments against Brazilian authorities involved in cases investigating his father, especially STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes. He was replaced by deputy missionary José Olímpio (PL-SP).

HAS SheetEduardo cited a project presented by Evair Vieira de Melo (PP-ES) that proposes a change in regiment to allow, exceptionally, the remote exercise of the parliamentary mandate abroad. The text is stopped awaiting order from the mayor.

Eduardo’s behavior generated an open inquiry in May at the STF at the request of PGR (Attorney General’s Office). In the request, the course of the process, obstruction of criminal offense investigation involving criminal organization and violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.

The deputy articulates with the US government to impose sanctions against Minister Alexandre de Moraes. According to PGR, the intention is to coerce the Supreme Court and benefit father, Jair Bolsonaro, who is defendant for an attempt to blow.

On Saturday (19), Eduardo thanked US President Donald Trump for revoking Visas of STF ministers. “Guaranteed I can only say one thing: there is a lot more to come!” He wrote in X.

He also maintained the defense of tariffs on Brazilian products. In an interview with CNN, he said the 50% tariff “is not the desired scenario,” but it is the “only hope” that remains. The deputy also stated that “regrets that the Brazilian people have to pay the bill.”
