A stand of the Eldorado Rodeo () collapsed on Saturday night (19), leaving 60 people injured, one of them in serious condition. According to the Military Police, the structure collapsed around 23h. The victims were rescued and experts work at the scene on Sunday (20), to investigate the causes of collapse. According to the City Hall, of the 60 injured, 20 were classified as emergency cases and 40 were considered less serious. In all, ten patients had to be transferred to hospitals in the region: six were referred to the Regional Registration Hospital, two went to the Pariquera-Açu Hospital and two were taken to the Jacupiranga Hospital.
“As soon as the incident happened, all people injured were promptly attended by the emergency teams present at the site,” says the clarification note of the municipal administration. “We are specializing, in a special way, the emergency support of neighboring municipalities and consaúde (Intermunicipal Health Consortium of Vale do Ribeira and Litoral Sul), which sent ambulances and professionals to reinforce care. Our recognition also extends to doctors and health teams that, even outside their shifts, promptly attended to the call, demonstrating the commitment and dedication to life.”
The city states that it continues to follow the health status of the injured and offering families support, and informs that the case will be investigated. “A rigorous investigation will begin to investigate the causes of the incident, identify those responsible and adopt preventive measures that avoid similar situations in the future.”
Party is canceled
The accident occurred shortly before the presentation of the duo Gian & Giovani. In a video on social networks, the singers mourned the episode and said they will reschedule the presentation when the victims recovered. The mayor of Eldorado, Noel Castelo (Solidarity), also released a video alongside the health director of the municipality and the head of the Organizing Committee of the Rodeo. Castelo thanked the readiness of the rescue teams and the help of neighboring municipalities, such as Jacupiranga and Sete Barras. The mayor also confirmed the cancellation of the scheduled schedule this Sunday.
