Not so close to the spotlight outside the TV screens, the presenter Renata Vasconcellos53, reveals the backstage behind the journalist woman in a rare interview. With almost three decades dedicated to TV Globoshe opened her heart on career, family, aging and social networks.
Today maintains an Instagram profile with over one million followers. “I have my head a thousand. There are already many stimuli to handle,” she told O Globo newspaper. “I try to put a little bit of what I am there. My interests, my colors.”
Going through many changes in journalism, Vasconcellos emphasized that he witnesses and starred in an important turn in Brazilian television news, which is also marked by the greatest influence of social networks. “We left the presenter’s stereotype. We added our personalities, but without giving up journalism. Today, there is no longer a type of hair, clothing or posture,” he says.
At home, share life with also journalist Miguel Athayde, 52. “It’s a challenge, because it’s a 24 -hour job. But as we have this exhaust look, we can add lightness to everyday life,” said the professional.
Mother of Antonio, 25, and Miguel, 22fruits of a previous marriage, the presenter also commented on reconciling motherhood with her career. For her, it is a constant exercise of respect and listening. “There are parental responsibilities, but there is a much larger journey, which is self-knowledge. It has to do with love in fullness, and not merely the mirror, the projection I would like to see in the other. This is a mistake, limited. It is to shoot and understand: ‘Who are you? Surprise me’.”
The journalist defends meditation, silence and the welcome of their own feelings as fundamental practices – including to cross menopause, a phase that faces maturity and interest. “It’s something that strengthens me even at work. Life’s great cycles are beautiful. Includes accept. I’m more mature in voice, technique and resistance.”
