Suspect of 29 years hurled a stone against collective on Avenida Nossa Senhora do Sabará
A 29 -year -old man was arrested in the act on Friday night (18.Jul.2025) after throwing a stone against a bus on Nossa Senhora do Sabará Avenue, in Vila Arriete, south of São Paulo. The arrest occurred around 10:40 pm. This was the 10th arrest related to the attacks on collectives in São Paulo.
According to the City Hall, a car from (Metropolitan Civil Guard) was patrolling the avenue when he was alerted by a person about the attack. The guards spotted the suspect, who tried to escape, but was captured.
After the arrest, the man was sent to the 98th Police District in Jardim Miriam. There were no injuries in the occurrence.
Bus attacks
The state capital has recorded 520 bus attacks since June 12. It has accounted for 25 new cases of the night of Thursday (17.Jul) the dawn of Friday (18.Jul), and 14 occurrences from Friday (18.Jul) to Saturday (19.Jul).
In distribution by sectional police stations, the 6th sectional, in the South Zone, concentrates 66 cases. The 3rd Sectional, in the West Zone, then appears with 65 occurrences.
Avenida Cupecê leads the ranking of roads with more attacks, totaling 20 cases, also in the South Zone. Raposo Tavares Highway records 13 occurrences, and Avenida Senador Teotônio Vilela, 12.
Authorities investigate the motivations of the attacks. The main lines of investigation point to disputes between companies for contractual changes in public transport and challenges promoted over the internet.
“Security forces are still acting to identify and arrest those responsible for recent bus attacks in São Paulo”said the SSP in a note Poder360. “The department reinforces the importance that public transport companies formalize the police reports to collaborate with investigations”these.
