Rome – The Italian star conductor Riccardo Muti, who has his 84th birthday on July 28, criticizes the culture of political correctness as a “reverse racism” that also affects opera. “It is wrong to change the words in the libretto of an opera – they should be rated in the historical context,” said Muti in an interview with the Milan daily “Corriere della Sera” (Sunday edition).
