Vain supporters to the streets of Brasilia on Sunday (20) for a walk in defense of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Last Friday (18), he started to wear an electronic anklet and underwent other restrictive measures. The act, called “Walk for Freedom”, was summoned by parliamentarians such as federal deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF) and Senator Damares Alves (Republicans-DF). According to a statement released on their social networks, the concentration was at 9am in Eixão Sul, in front of the Central Bank, and the protesters were instructed to wear green and yellow.

In a video released on social networks, Bia Kicis stressed the urgency of the mobilization: “The seriousness of the situation is so great that we have no time to waste,” she says. “It is very important to participate. We cannot omit, we cannot despair. We have to have faith, hope and claw.” In addition to Brasilia, Pro-Bolsonaro demonstrations were summoned in other cities. Senator Magno Malta (PL-ES) released on his social networks a motorcade in Vila Velha (s) against what he called “brutal injustice” against the former president.

The beginning is scheduled for noon. In publications calling for state supporters and party leaders, the senator states that the former president was transformed into a “political prisoner” by a system that “ignores the constitution and pursues those who fight for freedom” and reinforces that Bolsonaro supporters cannot abandon the streets. In Belo Horizonte, supporters shared on social networks a call for demonstration in Liberdade Square.

PL wants manifestations as a response to precautionary measures

On Friday, the liberal party began planning demonstrations in response to the precautionary measures imposed on Bolsonaro. In a note released on Instagram, the caption says that “people should return to the streets in a peaceful and orderly way.” PL leader in the House of Representatives, Sostenes Cavalcanti (RJ), also spoke and published on his X (former Twitter) profile the phrase “Brazil on the streets already!”.

Bolsonaro supporter blogger Paulo Figueiredo, who is in the United States and maintains dialogue with licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), said similar publication, saying that “it is time to go to the streets-peacefully and orderly-in a way never seen before”. In his last act, held on June 29, the former president brought together 12,400 people. The number is the lowest recorded in São Paulo in demonstrations in favor of Bolsonaro, since it left the presidency in 2022.
