Actually, everyone should be the same before the law, but some are the same in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The fact that those people who say that they are Bosniaken, Serbs or Croatians are better than people who have not say this have been concerned with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg for years. After the war (1992-1995) a constitution was written by American diplomats. Since then there have been three presidents. A citizen can only be elected to this office if he or she describes himself as Bosniake, Serb or Croatian, i.e. precisely these ethnic self -attribution. This also applies to the mighty second parliamentary chamber, the “House of the peoples”.
