The forest fire declared in the municipality of the Pacense town of Valdecaballeros, which has devastated about 2,500 hectares of surface, evolves favorably after a night of intense works in the area. In the next few hours it is not ruled out that the wind complicates the situation again, as the Board of Extremadura warns this Sunday in a note.
The fire was declared as level 1 on Saturday night, which means that it can be controlled by the media of the regional plan, but can affect people and goods and force special measures. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, the fire has forced some 300 people who were in the town of Cíjara, celebrating the local parties, and another 140 people who were in a campsite. The population that has been evacuated is located in shelters of Valdecaballeros, as reported by the Chief of Sala 112, Juan Carlos González Rojo.
The Minister of the Presidency, Interior and Social Dialogue, Abel Bautista, has presided over the early morning, at 2.00, the meeting of the Infocaex Management Committee, from the position of displaced command to the fire zone. In this meeting, the progress in the consolidation of the perimeter has been informed, having stopped the head of the fire. In the early morning, four forest fire units, three machinery equipment, three natural environment agents, three technicians, three light helicopters, two amphibians and a coordination helicopter have been incorporated into the fire extinguishing work.
