In order to expand vaccination coverage and protect the acrean population against measles through surplus in neighboring countries, the State Government, through the State Department of Health (Sesacre) and with support from the Ministry of Health (MS), promoted last July 15 the D -Day of Vaccination against Measles.
The mobilization took place simultaneously in the 22 Acre municipalities and resulted in the application of 4,336 doses of the triple viral vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps and rubella.

The action was a preventive response to the current epidemiological scenario of the region, which remains on alert since Bolivia – a neighboring country with open borders with Acre – declared a health emergency after confirming a measles outbreak.

Among the municipalities with the greatest adhesion, were Rio Branco (1,093 doses applied), Cruzeiro do Sul (309), Feijó (292) and Marshal Thaumaturgo (291). The actions also achieved areas of difficult access, reinforcing the efforts of health teams to ensure protection to the population throughout the state.
