Presenter Ana Maria Braga, 76, was thrilled live during a tribute prepared for Preta Gil no Mais Você, TV Globo.
She interviewed colleague Luciano Huck, who was a friend of Preta, and cried while calling an old interview in which Bahia was talking about the treatment of cancer in the program.
“Black came many times here. The last time it was in June 2023 and it was the day she completed a phase of radiotherapy. The singer told about the phase she was living, how she was staring, with courage and faith. I know what this courage means at each stage of treatment,” said the presenter.
Ana Maria Braga’s speech referred to the fact that she, as well as black, also had colorectal cancer. The diagnosis came in 2001, the whole of Brazil followed the recovery and she even presented the program without hair due to chemotherapy.
In addition to the colorectal, the presenter also had: Skin (1991) and Lung (2015 and 2020).
At the opening of Mais Você, Ana Maria Braga had already revered the singer by saying that the legacy of Preta Gil will continue alive.

Preta Gil died on Sunday night (20) in New York, United States, where he was since May for cancer treatment. It was diagnosed with the disease in the gut in 2023.
