Do you want to access holiday flavors at any time? Prepare these sliced cucumbers – They are very aromatic, with a garlic note. I am very happy to serve them to my family for dinners all year round.
- 200 g of cucumbers,
- 1 onion,
- 250 ml of white vinegar,
- 50 ml of water,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- 2.5 tablespoons of white sugar,
- ½ teaspoon dill,
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper in grains,
- ¼ teaspoon of fennel seeds,
- ¼ teaspoon of cumin seeds,
- ¼ teaspoon of coriander seeds.
Peel the garlic and chop finely. Put it in a pot together with vinegar, water, sugar, salt and the rest of the spices. Put a saucepan on medium heat and bring the whole to a boil. When the sugar and salt dissolve, remove the mixture from the heat and set aside.
Rinse the cucumbers and dry with a paper towel. Cut off the tips and cut into thin slices.
Transfer cucumbers to a clean and pasteurized jar. Then peel the onion and cut it into slices. Put them on top.
Pour the cucumbers and onions up to the top. Make sure there are no bubbles of air, shaking the jar and slightly knocking on it. Larger bubbles can be removed by gently inserting a knife or skewer stick.
Put a jar with cucumbers marinated in slices. They will be ready to eat after 24 hours.
Alternatively, you can pasteurize jars by cooking them for 15 minutes in a pot with water lined with a kitchen cloth. After pasteurization, remove the jar and put it upside down. After cooling, check that the nut is concave.
Store the preparations in a cool, dry and dark place.
