Why is not all trees and shrubs cut in spring? Well, the spring cut could increase the risk of fungal disease. In addition, such a procedure carried out at the beginning of the growing season causes juice to leak in some species. Still other specimens flowering on last year’s shoots would lose flowers and fruits. That is why it is worth getting to know the list of plants that should be cut in the summer in July.
In July it is worth cutting trees and fruit bushes, i.e. apple trees, pears, cherries, cherries, peaches, plums, grapes, currants. Thanks to this treatment, the fruit becomes sweeter and have a better coloring. By limiting the number of leaves, they are exposed, which matures faster. In addition, we get rid of woody branches with a summer cut and stimulate the plants to make better fruits in the next season.
Decorative trees and shrubs also require summer pruning. I am talking about jasmine, vena, bush, forsycja, polchnchees and kolkwaci. The idea is to form them and stimulate older shoots to flowering. We also recommend performing this procedure to conifers, evergreen plants, including Boxwood or laurel and those losing leaves for the winter, e.g. barberry, cherry plums.
In July we also cut in order to prepare them for winter. Long shoots could be broken or damaged during heavy snowfall. We also make a cut in plant sculptures, in which young branches are already 8-10 cm long.

Cutting trees and fruit shrubs is mainly aimed at getting rid of shoots that cover the fruit. So what does this procedure look like in individual species?
You should get rid of the wolvesi.e. long shoots that grow vertically. We leave only 20 percent. such branches. We must also remove these dry and damaged, ingrown to the interior of the crown.
After the harvest of cherries We make a forming cut And we get rid of branches growing inside, we also cut the tip of the tree. In cherry, in turn, it is important to shorten old and damaged shoots.
You have to x -ray the crownso remove dry, damaged shoots in the inside. In the second half of July, we form a tree, cutting this year’s growths growing above the fifth leaf, counting from the base. Plums only require removal of wolves.
We cut shoots at the grapes so that 6 to 10 leaves are left over the last group. We do it on branches with no fruit. After harvesting the currant crops, we get rid of old, damaged growths.
Older decorative shrubs should be performed by a rejuvenating cutting. We cut 2-3 branches from the inside and cut the long ones. We repeat this treatment every 2-3 years.
In young decorative bushes, we cut 30 percent. Thick, old shoots, right next to the ground. In turn, we thin the new growths, and shorten the oldest stems by 1/3 of the length. In the case of hedges, it is enough to lightly cut the young, this year’s suckers.
