He has acted as a kind of poster boy on social networks of the Iter Institute, created by the STF minister, who was the godfather of his nomination to the court.
In his Instagram profile, which is closed to followers, the counselor has made at least 12 posts with reference to the iter, since his inauguration at the ECA in March this year. These are posts promoting courses and events held by the Institute, founded in 2023.
In the posts, Vieira appears alongside politicians such as the mayor of Sao Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), and the federal deputy Cezinha de Madureira (PSD-SP), at the Institute’s headquarters.
Vieira also shows images of lectures conducted by Mendonça. One of them, in Belo Horizonte, had as its theme the role of public institutions in the structural reforms of the state.
At this meeting, held on June 3 this year, was present the State Secretary of Environment and Infrastructure of São Paulo, Natália Resende.
The Iter presents itself as an entity dedicated to the “training of leaders and professionals who will make the difference”.
One of his courses, “the mayor of the 21st century”, is described on the institute’s portal as “ideal for newly elected mayors and members of the municipal administration”. The cost of R $ 7,900 per student was held on a single day March this year at the Iter headquarters in São Paulo.
As an ECA counselor, Vieira has the function of overseeing the spending and administration of São Paulo municipalities.
Behind the scenes, colleagues of Vieira in the court have shown discomfort with the behavior. And they also remember that Vieira has been strictly being fulfilled the Council of the Minister of Inauguration in the Pupil in the ECA, in March this year.
“Be grateful to people. Grateful to those who have passed through their lives, those who will come. Grateful to friends and enemies, who make us grow. Have an attitude of gratitude,” said Mendonça at the time.
Vieira, who worked at the Jair Bolsonaro Regional Development Ministry of Development, was nominated by Alesp for a vacancy in the ECA after an intense lobby of Mendonça.
Speaking on behalf of the counselor, the ECA stated in a statement that “the Federal Constitution allows the participation of counselors in academic activities, in any educational institution”.
