Invasive animal species can reach Slovakia by trading and transport, waterways or natural spread of species. The invasive species of bird’s lean, mollusk Slime Iberian, which was eggs in the soil of plants in pots, as well as invasive species of fish and crayfish. This was stated for TASR by the Department of Communication and Promotion of the State Nature Conservation of the Slovak Republic.
The most common paths of the spread of invasive species fall according to the SOP and Animal leaks from enclosed spaces kept as pet or discharge into the wild. These are, for example, a Nutrie of a river or a turtle letter.
“For example, the species of the New Zealand Plosku, the Volský jumper, the invasive Cancer species, the invasive mammalian -kept species in captivity, such as the breeding of invasive squirrel species (burunduk striped) or red nosal,” approached conservationists.
They pointed out that all invasive species pose a threat to the original types of ecosystems, whether as space, food competitors or often disease carriers. “The SOP SR has a system of quick warning on its website, where the invasive types of the European Union (EU) can be reported,” he claims.
Slovakia may defend against the introduction of invasive species by awareness and enlightenment, Monitoring of species, control of penetrate roads by customs authorities or the Slovak environmental inspection and management of invasive species after their confirmation to prevent their spread, conservationists said.
In the past, the European Commission has received a list of invasive non -native species of plants and animals arousing concerns. The list of SOP includes species that, based on the risk assessment, pose the greatest threat to the EU. It includes species that are already widespread in the Union and cause economic losses, for example on production or negatively affect the original ecosystems. These are also species that are not yet registered in the EU territory, but are invasively spreading in other countries and their penetration into European countries could have a negative impact on biodiversity.
