Trump put Brazil in the center of the world. All countries accompany the conflicting relationship between Brazil and the United States with interest. Never have the history of the two nations have clashes like this we are witnessing. With unpredictable consequences, there is a division between opinions.
Trump as something
Some, usually those that are located on the leftist spectrum in their ideological defenses, see him as “imperialist and dictator,” a tormentor. They think he is interfering with our sovereignty. They vehemently criticize the revocation of visas of the Ministers of the (Supreme Court) and PF (Federal Police) directors, including in this package the closest family members. Official news indicates that other names of authorities and government assistants would also be on the list.
In the wake of these criticisms, they take the opportunity to include Bolsonaro and his family members, because they think that all this dispute was provoked by them, especially the licensed deputy, who has been roaming the corridors of Washington for some time presenting documents with what he considers disburst of ministers, PF and the executive.
Hamburger
In the beginning, it was even mocked by the ministers themselves and the mainstream press. They called him “bananinha”, “hamburgers frittor” and other adjectives that disqualified him. Today, they already see him by another prism. Attribute to it competence to influence the US government in making these decisions. Not only. They opened against him an inquiry into an alleged plot in the United States to the detriment of Brazilian authorities.
It is worth remembering that this is the discourse of the left, the governors and the majority of the press. Certain conservatives, fear of the consequences of US actions against Brazil, also joined this censorship. They put on Trump’s lap the problems that our country is crossing and, worse, the even bigger ills we may face.
Trump as Savior of the Fatherland
On the other side are those who applaud. They claim that we come to an internship of irreversible political persecution within the boundaries of our borders. They think that if the ministers act for political motivation, trying, for example, taking from the 2026 elections, it is no use making manifestations or acting within the cold letter of the Constitution, for they have the last word.
Therefore, Trump, in their view, would be the last hope of replacing Brazil on tracks. When asked about the harmful consequences for the country’s economy, they respond that they are aware of all these ills and, repeating Eduardo Bolsonaro’s speech, claim that there is no other way.
Rocked land
According to this vision, at first it is necessary to undergo suffering, face a devastated land situation, then, removed the obstacles of the path, the opportunity to reorganize the country arise. Trump is, therefore, by this analysis, the Savior of the Fatherland.
Regardless of the side you are in, we must agree that we cannot destroy Brazil. This is our home, where we should feel good, hopeful, confident, and it must be considered clearly and objectively if there will be no smarter means of resolving the issue.
Possible solutions
Those seeking solution says that ministers will not be able to go back, as they would be demoralized. They also know that Trump will never back down. A dilemma without an alternative? There is no problem without solution.
Sitting to the table for a conversation, now, at least, seems unfeasible, although it was the wisest way. Trump proves to be irreducible in his claims. What would be to do to save our economy and glimpse a better future? Some experts, with a more exempt position, say the exit should be diplomatic.
A gateway to the judiciary
Suggest that Congress enter the field, without the interference of the judiciary. That takes, for example, a law of amnesty. Thus, I would meet much of Trump’s demands and preserve the institutional reputation. After all, if parliamentarians decide that from their prerogatives, the STF could do nothing.
There are those who do not accept this solution, but end up claiming: if no one step back, how can the question be resolved?
