Jake Larson, a World War II veteran who fought on D -Day, died this week at 102. Larson was also a “star” of Tiktok.

With over one million followers on the social network, it was there that the veteran told stories of when he was in war and not only. It was known on social networks as “Papa Jake”.

“Our beloved Pope Jake died on July 17 at the age of 102. He died peacefully and telling jokes to the end,” explained granddaughter, McKela Larson.

In the video caption it may read that the family asks for “some privacy” while processing “this loss”.

“When I get the right height, I will continue to share Pope Jake’s stories and keep his memory alive,” he wrote MckoAla larson.

Jake Larson was born on December 20, 1922 in Owatonna, the US state of Minnesota. He currently lived in Lafayette, California.

Larson’s first publication at Tiktok dates back to 2020. Three years later, during an interview with the AP news agency, “Papa Jake” assumed himself as “a star” on the social network.

“I’m a legend. I didn’t plan this, but it happened,” he said at the time,

In 2024, in an interview with the same news agency, Larson said he was not a hero for his work in the United States National Guard, but left advice: “Make peace and not war.”
