United States President Donald Trump praised the director of the Federal Housing Financing Agency (FHFA) and president of the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac board, William Pulte, posting on the social network Truth Social. “Keep moving forward, William, don’t let the radical left weak to stop you!” Trump wrote, stating that Pulce is doing an “excellent job.”
In early July, Pulte asked the US Congress to investigate Federal Reserve President Jerome Powell for alleged “political bias” and for providing “misleading testimony” to the Senate. According to Pulce, these facts would be “reason enough for their dismissal for ‘just cause’.”
Trump has criticized Powell several times, claiming that the Fed president is late in cutting interest on the United States. The president also called for Powell’s resignation, supporting the request for investigation by Pulce.
