Typhoon reaches Philippines and leaves at least five dead and seven missing

The sixth typhoon of the year in the Philippines left five dead and seven missing until 8 am on Monday, local time, and more than 800,000 people were affected, according to the National Council for Risk Reduction and Risk Management in the country.

Wipha graduated from the east of the Philippines on July 18 and passed through the northern seas of the country.

Although Wipha did not hit the Philippine Continent, phenomenon intensified the rains of monsoons, bringing storms to various regions and triggering flooding.

The Marikina River, considered an important indicator of flooding for the region, rose its water levels significantly due to heavy rainfall caused by the typhoon on Sunday (20).

Although the river remains at a normal level of about 13 meters today, intense rainfall in the early hours of Sunday (20) caused the water to 15 meters, generating a flood alert.

Data show that floods occurred in, affecting more than 100 roads and bridges.

The supply of electricity was temporarily interrupted in regions of 115 cities, and more than 1,200 houses, along with 44 infrastructure, suffered various damage.
