Despite the significant advance of soybeans in several states of the Legal Amazon, Acre remains out of the crop expansion route. According to recent data released by the Spectrax Territorial Intelligence company, the soy planted area grew by 20.7% in the Amazon region for the 2024/2025 crop, mainly occupying areas previously intended for degraded pastures.

This growth is mainly pulled by states such as Mato Grosso, Pará and Rondônia, where agribusiness has expanded borders and invested in the conversion of land to grain cultivation. On the other hand, Acre, Amazonas and Amapá showed no increase in soy production areas, keeping the same levels of previous harvests.
The data reinforces Acre’s position as a state still distant from the growth trends that mark regional agribusiness, especially with regard to soybean, which has been consolidated as an economic engine in other parts of the Amazon.
The municipality of Capixaba, in the interior of Acre, has one of the largest productions of legume in the state.
Although Acre was expanding soybeans in the Amazon, the product was the most exported in 2024, according to data released by the Brazilian National Investment Export Promotion Agency (Apexbrasil).
The value of foreign sales of grain reached more than $ 21 million.
At the time, Apex President Jorge Viana saw the 2025 scenario with optimism, but said the issue of climate change could undermine the production of the grain.
“All of this depends on rain, drought, and we have to be very careful and adopt prevention and protection policies for those who work and produce acrean agriculture,” he emphasized.
