“It was themselves who called the police”: 90 -year -old widower returns and finds the house taken by Okupas

Agustín is 90 years old, is a widower and has been living for over 50 years in the same apartment in Getafe, around Madrid. As he returned from a brief visit to his sister, he came across an unexpected reality: his house was in possession of Okupas, who even called the police when the family tried to retrieve the property.

A few weeks ago, he decided to spend a few days with his sister in Toledo on a seemingly complicated trip. But when he returned, the surprise was brutal: the house where he lived all his life had been invaded. As reported by the newspaper El Español, the situation surprised his own family, who did not expect to find the housing completely transformed.

It was one of the grandchildren who, when passing to collect the mail, a routine task that always does that his grandfather is absent, realized that something was not well. The lock had been changed and noise was heard inside the apartment. “There were people inside. I didn’t know what to do,” the young man told Telemadrid.

Family reaction and attempt to resolve without police

Faced with the shock, the family chose not to immediately call the police. “We wanted to solve the situation quickly, by ourselves, and decided to contact a mediator,” explained the grandson. However, this approach quickly proved ineffective.

FALSE CONTRACT AND STATED VIDEO

According to the source mentioned, the Okupas themselves eventually called the police, claiming to live there legally. To reinforce this version, they presented a seemingly fake lease and a video where they simulated a home change. They still tried to convince the neighbors that the apartment had been rented by Agustín, thus seeking to legitimize their presence.

Three days later, the authorities managed to dislodge the occupants. Four people were detained, but not even that returned peace to the elderly. When the family re -entered the house, the scenario was devastating.

Erased memories and signs of danger

“The apartment is completely empty. A 90 -year -old person who has lived here for 50, full of memories… And suddenly there is nothing,” lamented his grandson, visibly shaken. In addition to the absence of goods, the interior of the housing presented worrying signs: knives, axes and two dogs considered dangerous were found on site.

Suspects with antecedents were released before the hearing

As the source mentioned indicates, it was Okupas with criminal records and recurrence behavior. One of the suspects has pending an order of extradition and another was in search and capture. Still, the detainees were eventually released even before the judicial hearing. “We have the view scheduled for tomorrow and they are already on the street,” the grandson told regional television, without hiding the unbelief.

For Agustín and his family, the hardest now will be to regain tranquility. These are not just material goods. It is the breach of safety in a space where there was a lifetime. And as concluded, the wound left by this intrusion goes far beyond the broken door.

The return of the house did not eliminate the effects of the succeed. Concern is maintained with the safety and the realization that material and personal damage was not fully repaired.
