Died at dawn on Tuesday (22) in São Paulo, at the age of 97, lawyer and teacher who was a columnist for Sheet for three decades.
Ceneviva had been hospitalized for over a week at the Syrian-Libanian Paulistano Hospital. The family did not reveal the cause of death.
The funeral has been held since 10am on Tuesday at Gethsêmani Cemetery, in the Morumbi neighborhood, in the West Zone of São Paulo. It is expected that the burial will take place at 16h.
Specialist in Civil Law, Ceneviva signed until November 2013 the column, published in the daily notebook of Sheet For almost 30 years, where he discussed themes in the area with technical and accessible language.
Ceneviva was a professor of Civil Law at PUC-SP and IASP Emeritus Partner (São Paulo Lawyers Institute). It is the author, among other works, of the book “Law of Commented Public Records”.
“It has always been a very loving person, very different. It was not only his intelligence that was splendid, but the concern with people,” recalls the daughter, Laura Ceneviva.
He was very fond of music, she says, and contributed to São Paulo institutions of artistic culture, such as the Municipal Theater.
He began his professional life in 1947, as a radio announcer, as he narrates in his.
“Imagine the reader I wrote, in the old sports Gazeta, the description of the fifth goal of Brazil in the 1958 World Championship in Sweden. I translated comics from Pato Donald, at the beginning of Editora Abril. I got used to the variety until I was law in 1954 in Largo São Francisco.”
The lawyer, the newspaper’s columnist, says Ceneviva was brilliant, important and efficient. “Walter has always been noted for talent and elegance, as a lawyer and a journalist.”
The AASP (Association of Lawyers), of which he was a counselor and vice president, lamented death and expressed feelings to the teacher’s family, friends and students.
“Ceneviva defended law firmly and tirelessly, as well as forming a legion of excellent law professionals, was an excellent lawyer and always made law and justice prevail. Thus, he will follow an example for our class and for Brazilian society,” says the note of regret.
