Allies of (PL-SP) are considering the possibility of naming him to a position of state secretary, so that he can preserve his mandate as federal deputy even after the end of his 120-day license, which ended last Sunday (20). Meanwhile, Eduardo is in the United States and, with the end of the license, may accumulate absences if he does not justify his absence in the ordinary sessions of the House, which may result in the loss of his mandate.
The Internal Regulations of the House of Representatives allow parliamentarians to license to assume positions in the Executive, such as that of state secretary. In such cases, the deputy does not lose his mandate, but temporarily departs from his legislative functions, being replaced by an alternate from his party or coalition.
The license request must be formalized, authorized by the mayor, currently Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), and read in plenary. If the departure exceeds 120 days, the alternate is summoned to occupy the vacancy, and the licensed deputy maintains his privileged forum.
